Chapter 1.69: Blue Like My Tears

Image
Maxine I had gotten up early so I could talk to mom before school but mom wasn't home, she hadn't been home in three days and there was nothing to eat in the house anymore. I only had potato chips and crackers to eat at the house but they were gone now.  I didn't understand why mom had to be gone all the time, but I knew better than to ask questions. I shook my head and got up from where I was sitting. Clean clothes was another problem, and my shirt had a stain on it. I quickly ran up the stairs to change before I had to meet Rylan outside to walk to school with and threw on something else to wear. I wrinkled my nose, this outfit smelled funny but at least it didn't have a stain on them. I ran outside just in time to see Rylan walk over and waved at him. "Hey Ry," I said, smiling. He smiled back at me. "... Do you mind if I borrow one of your apples?" I asked, as my stomach growled loudly. Rylan's mom normally packed him a lot of snac

Chapter 1.68: Little Sister

Rylan  "I'm going to get you!" I yelled you, chasing after Destiny with my water gun. I couldn't but to smile, and laugh as she screamed trying to get away from stream of water going towards her. "Come on Des, you can do better than this," I said, giggling. "Get you! Get you!" Destiny said as she giggled. "I get you Rys!" she yelled turning around and shooting me with a stream of water as I threw my hands up in the air in mock anger. "Arg! Now I'm all wet!" I said. "Now what will do? Oh wait.... I can do this!" I said, turning around blasting her with water. Destiny shrieked as the water got her and looked down at herself giggling. "Now I wet too!" Destiny said, giggling even more. I nodded, and stuck my tongue at her which she mimicked, sticking her tongue out at me. "Rys, I got secwet!" Destiny said, smiling at me with those grey eyes of hers. "You have a secret?&

Chapter 1.67: The Joke Off

Image
Rylan    Man I wish we could do this every night, but there was school. Ugh, why did we need school anyways?  "Dang... I didn't know you could tell some pretty funny jokes, Maxie," I said, laughing at the last one she told. Kealyn had almost fallen off the sofa twice now as Maxine had let the jokes go, and I had to admit it was kind of funny seeing Kealyn scramble to stay on the sofa.  "Hey, w hat is it called when a cat wins a dog show?" I asked, grinning. I was almost certain I was going to stump them this time, but then Maxine laughed and shook her head. "A CAT-HAS-TROPHY!" Kealyn said, giggling. How could they stump me but I couldn't stump them? "That was an easy one, everyone knows it," she said. "I didn't," Maxine said gently, still giggling. "Hey kiddos," Mr. Folly said, as he walked in followed by Mrs. Folly. "I see we are competing for who has the best jokes, and I have one that w

Chapter 1.66: Don't Worry Sweetie

Kealyn "Hey Maxie, do you think your mom will be okay with staying at my place tonight?" I asked her, thinking it was a good night to have a sleep over.  I already knew my parents were going to be fine with it, they always were. We all went to church together and Mom knew Rylan's parents pretty well so they didn't worry about who I was with. "Probably," Maxine replied, smiling. I was a little jealous of her hair sometimes, it was always so pretty and I loved that it was kind of gold in the sun. Mine was just red, like my dad and sisters hair was.   Oh well, I have what I have and mom always says to be grateful so I guess I will.  "What about your parents Ry?" I asked. I already knew the answer but I would ask anyways, because I could be wrong.  "Oh yeah, Dad won't mind and Mom is like your moms best friend or something. It's kind of weird," Rylan said, sighing. Rylan felt more like a brother to me than a friend b

Chapter 1.65: Women Think A Lot

Image
Rylan "And that son, is why are women are so complicated," Dad said, chuckling. I would have never thought that girls think everything about everything all the time. It sounded like it would make their head hurt all the time! "So that's why mom is grumpy sometimes," I said, causing dad to burst out laughing.  "My boy, you have much to learn but you will get there," Dad said, as he got up. I got up too, and sighed as Mom came outside then to see what we were doing. I decided to ask him about something else but then Mom came outside just as we got up the stairs. "You two behaving out here?" Mom asked, raising an eyebrow.  "It's ok mom, I know why you get really grumpy sometimes now," I told her, smiling. "What?" Mom asked. "Ha.... I told him that girls think about everything, honey. Nothing too bad," Dad said. Mom didn't look convinced, not at all. "It's okay

Chapter 1.64: Gone Again

Welcome to Gen Two, and all the twist and turns this generation holds! It will definitely be a smoother ride than Gen One but still enjoyable.... I hope? There will mention and use of drugs, sexual encounters and potentially other heavy topics.  Enjoy! Maxine "Do your homework," Mom said, as she walked out of the house. I waited until the door closed before following her outside, and watched from a distance as she went into the building in the back yard. I wasn't allowed in that building, not now or ever as mom said. I wasn't even allowed to ask about the building or bring it up, but that didn't mean I couldn't wonder.  I watched as she went up the stairs, not caring to look behind her as she usually didn't when she went in there. Normally when I looked around the door and around the building it smelled odd, kind of like a skunk got angry but also kind of good. I wanted to know what was in there so bad, but I knew better than to ask what wa

Chapter 1.63: Alien Romance

Image
"I love how you magically make a rose appear, one of your alien gifts hmm?" I said, giggling. Zeta winked at me sending my stomach into a swarm of butterflies like it always did. He knew just what to do and what to say to put me in a certain mood. Zeta had been my anchor when we finally realized just how psychotic our mother was. He was the one who had pulled both Isobel and myself aside when he accidentally caught one of her thoughts. "For you? Always," Zeta said, as I took the rose from him. I was definitely blushing now, and he knew it because that mischievous grin of his was tugging at his lips. "And because of you, we have a little crowd stopper in the other room with your sweet eyes and sexy black hair," he said. "Well she is your daughter too," I said softly. He was right, she did look like she wasn't human but she had my hair and eyes. "I'm glad she looks like you," I whispered. "My beauty, I just know s
