Chapter: 1.27: Operation Stake Out

"Alright, I want an update on our progress! Sofia? What has your research said?" Serene asked.

"Well... It hasn't really said anything. It just talks about Garlic and how it supposedly repels vamps," Sofia said. She nodded, looking to Ashton who nodded in agreement and then looked back to Sofia. "The only other thing I found is that some vamps can be out in sunlight," she said quietly.

"WHAT?" Mateo yelled suddenly. His eyes narrowed, and he stiffened. "You mean the bloodsuckers could be walking around in plain sight?!" He asked.

"Yeah...." Sofia said, she looked upset.

"I found that certain books have more information on vamps," Ashton said, and looked around at everyone. Both Sofia and Mateo looked at him, curious. "Want me to order them for us?" he asked. Serene nodded, this was good. Actual progress in finding the vampires and driving them out of their town.

"Yes, go ahead and order them. Sofia, keep up the research. We need to know more about the vamps walking in sunlight. Mateo, you need to work on your coordination, because you and Ashton are going to be our primary hunters. There is no time to waste, they could feasting on our families as we speak," Serene said.


She watched as Sofia jumped on the computer and then gasped. "What is it?!" Mateo asked, ready to fight whatever upset his sister."Sofia!" Mateo yelled.

"I just found this website, it says that there is supposedly a town called Forgotten Hollow and vamps live there!" Sofia exclaimed. Mateo looked like he was ready to jump out of his chair and stake them right there. Serene watched as Ashton searched on the tablet and then sigh, it was true. She found the site too, and then gave her tablet to Mateo who mumbled something under his breath as he read what she showed him.

"Alright, this isn't good. A whole town of blood thirsty vamps, we need to prepare to check out this town," Serene said. Ashton stood up, and then walked out of the room without a word to any of them.

"Where are you going?! This isn't the time to take a nap!" Mateo yelled.

"I'm going to work on my coordination," Ashton said as the door closed behind him.


"Those blood suckers won't know what hit them once I find them," Mateo said boldly.

    Serene has really gotten into this vampire hunter thing. What if the vamps are just trying to live normal lives?

Authors Note: This chapter starts Serene into the story, or more accurately her point of view. Now that Toby is dead, she officially gets her debut!
