Chapter 1.0: Isobel's Early Days
Juniper had just finished giving the grumpy toddler a bath, and ended up getting all wet when her boss called because she was yet again late for work. Sometimes having a career just got in the way of motherhood, today was one of those days....
"Okay, mama has to go to work. But Nanny Mizuki is gonna watch you like usual," Juniper said to the babbling little girl. The little toddler just giggled and started babbling. Smiling, she picked up the phone and called Mizuki before she left work leaving only when the woman showed up.

"Nuuuu" Isobel cried as the nanny showed up and started talking with her. This wasn't mama, and Iso wanted her mama not this lady.
"We are gonna have so much fun today," Mizuki said, trying to sound excited. She didn't even react to what was said, nope, instead she kept playing with tablet. The tablet was better than the strange lady. Iso was determined to get her way, no strange lady was going to tell her what to do. After what seemed like forever, she was finally left alone.
Now it was just Sparkle, the tablet and me. PERFECT!
Isobel giggled to herself as she played on the tablet some more, but then her stomach growled and she got angry. "WAAH" Isobel cried as her stomach continued to growl.
ARG! I hate these things! "FOO!" Isobel screamed. Foo, that was what the toddler said when she was hungry, which she was really hungry right now. "FOO!" she screamed again. She heard the lady say something but couldn't really understand what she meant.
The lady hurried over and grabbed me, carrying me to my chair and then finally gave me something to eat. Iso giggled and grabbed a handful of the food. "Isobel, put the food down," Mizuki said. There was a worried look on the lady's face, and then there was an angry look. The lady looked so angry, but Iso thought that the food that now covered her shirt was funny.
"I'm home!" came a familiar voice. Isobel shrieked, and squirmed in her chair. Mama was home! Mama walked into the room, looked at me and then to the lady then back to me. "Isobel!" Mama finally shouted. Giggling as she was picked up and sternly put down on the floor. "I thought we talked about this, no playing or throwing your food," she was told.
"I am SO sorry," Mama said as she turned away from me and looked to Mizuki.
"Your daughter needs discipline, sooner rather than later," Mizuki said. Mama still looked angry, very angry.
"Eee?" Isobel said as she giggled.
"She HAS discipline," Mama said.
"Taking her toys away for a few hours isn't discipline," Mizuki stated. "That brat, needs to be taught how to behave!"
Before either of them could stop me, I teetered over and yelled as loudly as I could at the lady. I was in trouble because of her. ARG! "NUUUU!" Isobel yelled, they both turned to look at me. The lady's face was very red now.
"You call THAT discipline?" Mizuki asked. Mama had an angry face, a very angry face. Ooops....
"Mizuki, thank you for watching her today, but you need to go now," Mama said quietly. Uh oh, I'm gonna go too...

1.01 A New Nanny

ReplyDeleteOpps... not the smartest idea questioning the disciplinary tactics of the parent of the kid you're watching. Isobel looks like she might need some more guidance though.
